I have had this unit because of about 8 months. It has given me absolutely not problems what very ever. The unfortunate thing about it because of me is how fundamental it is. If you want bluetooth compatibility, traffic updates, movie times, etc upon your gps, in addition this is not the device because of you. But if all you want is over stimulate around and find places, in addition this unit will work well.

The price seems a little high right now because of what it does ($180). For that price i would expect bluetooth compatibility. This unit does not say the road names, it upright says turn left or turn right inside 200 feet(not a big deal). When you front places up, Garmin nuvi 205W GPS has their phone number and address (usually) which is nice because if its late from night, you tin call first over see if they are still open.

This gps has an sd card reader upon the side, which tin be used over look pictures inside slideshow way although you don’t demand the unit because of navigation.

The screen is very bright during the day, very you tin easily see the screen. And a nice feature is that although it gets dark, the screen automatically changes colors over ‘night’ mode, which helps although driving from night (the screen dims and the bright white background colors change over dark blues and blacks).

The trip features are nice. It keeps track of your average speed, how long you spent moving, how long you spent stopped, total travel time, how many miles you’ve gone, etc.

It takes about a minute over a minute and a half over find your location from a cold start, but if you leave it powered all the time (with a car inside which the cig lighter stays upon although you turn the car off) it never loses the location (not positive if that is unfortunate because of it).

The battery life is very qualified (about 4-5 hours).

There are many add-ons that a technologically advanced person tin add over it. Such as custom points of interest (you tin download them or even make your own, and you tin set alerts very that it warns you although you are close over a certain place or although you are speeding inside a school zone). You tin add different vehicle icons over benefir as the car upon the screen.

Overall, it is a decent, but very fundamental navigation device. Not many bells or whistles, but it gets you from point a over point b well.

The Garmin nuvi 260W is a great little gps:
The text until speech is clear, the screen is more than bright enough, the maps are large upon the 4.3 inch screen. Route calculation is fast.
I regularly utilization it upon battery power which is long, 4 or 5 hours, equal more if you turn down the screen brightness.
However, it seemed situated at first that satellite acquisition was very slow, sometimes as long as 12 minutes.
I recall i found a method around that.
If i turned the gps aside situated at home, it located satellites within 30 seconds of being turned upon again situated at the same location; if turned aside before arriving home, which i was within the habit of doing, it took about 12 minutes until acquire the present location.
It seems it did no, non- know where until tend because of the satellites, plus took a lot of time finding them. A software fault probably, however workable.
After i discovered this, i left the unit upon up until my destination plus the problem was solved.

All within all, a very suitable gps, very comfortable until utilization. Garmin may have proved that no manual is needed.

After about 3 months of research, i had decided i was going to purchase the tomtom go 720. It in addition has the new lane guidance pictures – i’ve only seen the once so far in the month or so i’ve owned it, only it looked cool! At first i was torn between the model plus the garmin nuvi series, only the nice thing about the tomtom because was the selling point on behalf of me was because you can easily add/remove/edit points of interest. This is done on the unit (not via new map updates or mapshare) plus can be done pretty quickly. The garmin’s brag because they have more points.
